
HVAC Dual-AC Motor Control with Active PFC Implementation Using Piccolo™ MCUs
The 32-bit C2000™ Piccolo™ microcontroller from TI provides a true single chip solution for multiple motor drives, including the front-end PFC. In this paper, implementation of controlling two motors using field oriented control (FOC), and an interleaved PFC using a single controller is described/ illustrated. The overall system helps users reduce the number of critical components in the bill of materials, reduce the size of bulky passive components, improve efficiency, minimize input-current harmonic content, maximize PFC, precisely regulate the DC bus, and save development time.
